Reach the World to Honor ABC News' George Stephanopoulos with the Reach the World Cronkite Award at its 25th-Anniversary Gala in New York City

NEW YORK - April 9, 2024 - PRLog -- Seasoned, veteran reporter George Stephanopoulos will receive the Reach the World Cronkite Award at Reach the World's 25th-anniversary gala on April 11, 2024, at the Central Park Boathouse in New York City.  Stephanopoulos is currently co-anchor of America's most-watched morning show "Good Morning America" and anchor of "This Week with George Stephanopoulos". Reach the World gives its Cronkite Award annually in memory of Walter Cronkite's service to the Reach the World Board as a founding Director in the late 1990s and early 2000s.  Presenting the award is Richard Wiese, explorer, producer, author, and twice-past-President of The Explorers Club, who received RTW's first Cronkite Award in 2012.

Also at the event, Reach the World will present a Lifetime Achievement Award to Mrs. Rita Fields, prominent teacher, principal and children's book author. As the first school leader to lead a school-wide RTW implementation in the early 2000s at CES 70 in the Bronx, NY, Mrs. Fields was instrumental to the early successes of the RTW program. Friends, family, and colleagues of Mrs. Fields will be present at the celebration to share a special and heartwarming moment.
