United Protective Technologies' (UPT) growth continues with additional facility in Niles, OH

LOCUST, N.C. - March 5, 2024 - PRLog -- United Protective Technologies (UPT), headquartered in Locust, NC, is pleased to announce the addition of a new facility in Niles, OH. This new facility, located at 704 Warren Ave., will support research, development, and commercial production activities.

"This new facility in Niles will be instrumental in expanding our R&D and production capabilities for our growing customer base in the region. Access to talent, an advanced manufacturing base, and support from great organizations like JobsOhio, Team NEO, the City of Niles, the Youngstown Business Incubator, and the Advanced Manufacturing and Applied Research Innovation Institute, made locating our newest facility in Niles an easy decision. UPT has experienced phenomenal growth over the last 18 months. Growth fueled by an increase in SBIR awards won, an expanding customer base, new market penetration, and the genesis of novel coatings. The latter of which will be unveiled later this year.

"This new facility will allow us to better service our rapidly growing customer base in the Midwest region with shorter lead times and expanded capacity. Location selection was facilitated by multiple local organizations like JobsOhio, TeamNEO, and AMARII who are infusing energy and funding into a region that is seeing a resurgence of manufacturing. UPT will add to the talent pouring into the area with 21 new jobs planned at the Niles facility. Staffing is expected to consist of a diverse mix of skill sets ranging from engineering to production staff, similar to UPT's Locust headquarters.
