BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. - Oct. 5, 2023 - PRLog -- Today Veteran and Republican Congressional candidate in West Virginia's 2nd District, Joe Earley applauded Congressman Mooney's effort to get the House back into session to elect a new Speaker and to deal with the budget crisis.
"I know many believe that the ousting has left the House in turmoil. I believe that Gaetz's actions are going to result in a much better Speaker being elected. However, this is not the time to go on break. House members should be in Washington doing their due diligence on interviewing candidates for Speaker and dealing with the pending budget crisis," said Earley. Representatives Alex Mooney, Matt Rosendale, Lauren Boebert, and Andy Harris have sent a letter to Speaker Pro Tempore McHenry asking for the House to be called back to work. "I appreciate Congressman Mooney's leadership on this effort," said Earley. "I strongly believe that the next Speaker must endorse term limits, a balanced budget amendment, and stop making deals with the Democrats," said Earley. "I have always been impressed with Congressman Jim Jordan and I am pleased that he along with many others have entered the race." "My opponent would be a fish out of water if elected. He is supported by Kevin McCarthy who is no longer speaker. My opponent did not have the courage to put out a statement on the debt ceiling debacle led by McCarthy and once again said nothing regarding the lousy continuing resolution passed by his former Speaker friend," said Earley. "I am the only conservative in this race." Veteran Joe Earley for Congress End
