By: Campaign to Elect Joe Earley BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. - Oct. 2, 2023 - PRLog -- Today Veteran and Republican Congressional candidate in West Virginia's 2nd District, Joe Earley thanked Congressman Alex Mooney for voting against the 45 day continuing resolution that failed to cut spending.
"I want to thank Congressman Alex Mooney for having the courage to vote against the continuing resolution. Our nation is $33 trillion in debt. We are at a critical point where our country must cut spending. Unfortunately, Speaker Kevin McCarthy once again sold out to the Democrats and failed to address the spending problem, but Mooney did the right thing," said Earley, Earley challenged his opponent Riley Moore to reject the McCarthy endorsement. "This is the second time Speaker McCarthy has sold out to the Democrats and failed to get us real reforms on spending. My opponent has bragged about his McCarthy endorsement. If Moore was a true conservative and truly cared about our country's fiscal health, he would reject this endorsement," As the next Congressman, Earley would have voted against both continuing resolutions presented this weekend. He is opposed to further funding the Ukraine war and believes that spending cuts needed to be included in the resolution. Moreover, Earley supports a balance budget amendment. "If my opponent doesn't immediately reject the McCarthy endorsement, we know that he will sell us out in Washington if elected," said Earley. "We need a true conservative in DC like Alex Mooney not another McCarthy rino." Earley4WV2 End
