MISSION VIEJO, Calif. - July 10, 2023 - PRLog -- Omnigarde LLC is proud to announce its AI-based face recognition software, Omnigarde_000, achieved top-tier accuracy in the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Face Recognition Vendor Test (FRVT) 1:N benchmark*. The test evaluates the accuracy of identification and investigation capabilities of face recognition software on eight datasets. NIST published the test results on July 3, 2023. In the identification category, Omnigarde_000 achieved 3rd in accuracy among the companies that submitted software from the United States and 9th in accuracy among all submissions by companies worldwide. In the investigation category, Omnigarde_000 achieved 6th in accuracy among the US-submitted companies and 18th in accuracy among all worldwide submitted companies. These accuracy rankings are determined based on the average accuracy across the eight tested datasets. Competition in the test is intense, with some companies making more than 10 submissions. As of July 3, 2023, 116 companies have participated in the test and 417 submission results are kept on the NIST website in the FRVT 1:N performance summary tables. "Omnigarde is proud of its face recognition 1:N software achieved a top-tier performance among face recognition companies. This achievement greatly enhanced our face recognition technologies," said Omnigarde Founder/CEO Dr. Peter Lo.

Omnigarde LLC is a startup based in Southern California, with a strong focus on becoming a leader in biometric technologies through artificial intelligence (AI). Since its establishment on March 22, 2021, Omnigarde has made significant strides in developing cutting-edge biometric technologies, particularly in the areas of face, fingerprint, and voice recognition. These technologies have achieved top-tier performance in renowned benchmarks such as the NIST ongoing FRVT 1:1 and 1:N, MINEX III, and PFT III (https://www.nist.gov/itl/iad/image-group/proprietary-fingerprint-template-pft-iii) benchmarks. Omnigarde's ultimate objective is to become a leading biometric core technologies provider. The company's vision is to enhance people's quality of life, to be easier and more secure.

*The FRVT consists of two main types of tests: 1:1 and 1:N. The 1:1 test compares a probe face image with a pre-enrolled target face image to determine if they belong to the same subject. This test focuses on verifying the identity of a specific individual. The 1:N test compares a query face image with pre-enrolled face images to calculate similarity scores. The purpose of this test is to determine whether the query face matches any of the pre-enrolled face images or not. Both benchmarks are ongoing tests, allowing companies to submit improved software versions every four months. This allows companies to continuously enhance their algorithms and improve their performance in the FRVT benchmarks.
