PHOENIX - May 17, 2023 - PRLog -- Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce that Partner Matthew P. Feeney (https://www.swlaw.com/people/matt_feeney) has been elected to the Phoenix Symphony Board of Directors.

The Phoenix Symphony (http://phoenixsymphony.org/) is Arizona's largest performing arts organization and one of the state's most important cultural assets. In addition to performing traditional and modern repertoire in the fall and spring in Symphony Hall and around the Valley, its world-class musicians are actively engaged in the community thanks to generous foundation, corporation, and individual support. The Symphony is strengthened by collaborating with renowned guest conductors and artists. The core mission of The Phoenix Symphony is to provide the joy of live music as a catalyst for discovery, knowledge, compassion, and connection. Annually, orchestra members empower more than 120,000 students through education and partnerships and create opportunities for deeper connection for tens of thousands of adults experiencing homelessness, in Alzheimer's care facilities, in hospitals and in hospice.

Feeney has been involved in numerous civic and charitable organizations, including serving as a board member and president of the Arizona Foundation for Legal Services & Education, which was created by the State Bar of Arizona to promote access to justice for all Arizonans. At Snell & Wilmer, he helped to develop a formal pro bono policy for the firm in the late 1980s under which attorneys receive billable hour credit for legal services to low-income individuals. Feeney was honored in 2014 by the American Jewish Committee with the Judge Learned Hand Community Service Award, where he was recognized for demonstrating sustained contributions to the advancement of equality and democratic principles. Feeney also serves as chair of the Sandra Day O'Connor Institute for American Democracy and the Arizona Equal Justice Foundation and serves on the Notre Dame Law School Advisory Council.

At Snell & Wilmer, Feeney's practice is concentrated in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings, SEC reporting and compliance, and corporate governance matters, including advising corporate boards and board committees.
