By: Matt Chassin After being introduced by the Emmy winning star of the show MC Michelle Stafford(Phyllis Summers), Archduchess of Divinity gave the grueling statistics of how many gun deaths there have been this year, before launching into her hit song ,"No More" "No More ," is a modern day anthem. The song calls for an end to senseless violence, hate and injustice. It asks us to remember those who have died, in a historical context. the song evoke the memory of the holocaust, the Civil Rights Movement and more;, all the way up to George Floyd and the Black Lives Matter Movement. The song also glorifies the achievements of Black leaders as it asks all of us to see each other as the same. 'No More," is a plea for change, goodness, kindness to others and "No more bloodshed, please." The meaning of the song was not lost on the cast of Young and the restless. During her song many cast members were visibly affected. When the song ended Kate(Esther Valentine), exclaimed "Beautiful Song!" and upon her return to the podium Michelle Stafford had to wipe the tears from her eyes before continuing the ceremony. The afternoon concluded with the cast receiving awards from NAACP chair, Reverend Franklin Shaw Jr and Western regional Director of the National Action Network, Jonathan Mosley Sr. for their work helping children in the area.
