MISSISSAUGA, Ontario - Aug. 9, 2022 - PRLog -- Sending Sunshine marked its 2nd anniversary on August 4, 2022 in a cake-cutting ceremony in Mississauga.  The volunteer-run corporation experienced significant growth in two years. The first handwritten cards to seniors were delivered in 2020, during the pandemic.  In its first year, 173 senior care facilities and organizations partnered with Sending Sunshine. Today, over 570 elderly care agencies nationwide, request service.

More than 10,000 volunteers in 17 countries have helped Sending Sunshine deliver over 100,000 cards and letters in 3 languages to seniors. "Our volunteers are committed," says Marissa Parker, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Sending Sunshine. "With their hard work, we are able to deliver programs to help reduce the effects of social isolation and loneliness among seniors, in real and tangible ways".

Asked about plans for the future, Parker says, "I see nothing but more Sunshine ahead".
