Integrated Roadways Partners with Cisco to Provide Innovative In-Road Wireless EV Charging

Cisco Live 2022 announcement unveils new smart road initiative to expand and revolutionize America's transportation infrastructure
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - July 13, 2022 - PRLog -- Integrated Roadways (, a smart infrastructure technology provider, has announced its partnership with worldwide technology leader Cisco to expand real-world, in-road wireless electric vehicle charging capabilities in the U.S. This announcement follows the recent Cisco Live conference where leaders from Cisco and Ford Motor Company discussed technology's central role in transforming the auto industry and announced actionable plans with the City of Detroit to make infrastructure advancements a reality. Integrated Roadways' dynamic wireless EV charging capabilities were on display during a demonstration earlier this year ( in Detroit.

"For more than 100 years the car has stood for freedom and adventure, but nothing slows you down like having to plug it in to continue your journey. That's why I'm so excited to partner with Cisco to make in-road wireless charging a reality for electric vehicles," said Tim Sylvester, founder and CEO of Integrated Roadways. "By incorporating wireless charging directly into our future roadways and allowing electric vehicle owners to charge on the go, we're offering unparalleled – and unlimited – possibilities for drivers and businesses alike. We're changing the way we pay for roads and we're opening the door to using data and driving in exciting new ways."

In addition to their dynamic wireless EV charging capabilities, Integrated Roadways' patented precast concrete Smart Pavement ( sections have embedded software-upgradeable sensors to track real-time traffic data and technology offering a menu of offerings, including Wi-Fi6, 5G, BLE, and connectivity for autonomous vehicles.

"Imagine a world where vehicles get data from a network of sensors that are embedded in the roadways," said Darren Palmer, vice president, Electric Vehicle Programs, Ford Model e, during a video presentation ( in the Cisco Live "All In" keynote.

Integrated Roadway's Smart Pavement is already installed in Denver (, part of a pilot program to develop the company's Traffic Data as a Service (TDaaS) technology (, which collects data from a network of sensors embedded in the roadway. Smart Pavement will also be installed in a high-volume intersection in Lenexa, Kansas, as part of a 10-year pilot program ( for the city.
