"The San Francisco Black Film Festival commends the Director Patrick Giles, the Cast members and the producers of "I'm Charlie Walker" and of course Charlie Walker, one of our neighbors, the subject of the film," said Cree Ray, SFBFF Festival Director.

"I'm Charlie Walker " is just the reason that film festivals like ours exist to broaden the narrative about the African Diaspora. We are so pleased and honored that "I'm Charlie Walker" has a memorial tribute to my father, Kali O'Ray."

"I'm Charlie Walker," the incredible true story of one courageous and resourceful man's determination to overcome racial prejudices in 1970's San Francisco, I'm Charlie Walker is a captivating tale of ingenuity amid overwhelming obstacles. Starring Mike Colter (Evil, Marvel's Luke Cage) as San Francisco-based trucking and construction entrepreneur Charlie Walker, the film was written and directed by Bay Area-based Patrick Gilles and was shot on location in San Francisco with a predominantly local crew. Starring Mike Colter, Dylan Baker, Safiya Fredericks, Mark Leslie Ford, Steven Wiig, Emma Caulfield Ford, Monica Barbaro, Travis Johns, Greg Cipes, and Carl Lumbly.
