Veteran writer and film buff, Joanna Paxinou, has loved movies since she was a little girl going to the movies in New York City. Her latest At the Movies with Joanna blog post features Harry Davenport, a beloved actor of many film buffs. His film career was built on solid performances in films, such as Academy Award Best Picture winners Gone with the Wind, You Can't Take it With You, The Life of Emile Zola, and other favorites such as The Thin Man Goes Home, and Meet Me in St. Louis.

Harry Davenport started his career in the theater—his true love. He took on Broadway theater owners and co-founded Actors' Equity Association in 1913 with Broadway legend Eddie Foy in 1913.
