Guitar Guru Reveals Secret To Overcoming Songwriting Writer's Block
Tom Hess shows musicians how to overcome songwriting writer's block
Many musicians struggle to come up with songwriting ideas consistently or at all. This is often attributed to having a case of writer's block.
Tom Hess has recently revealed his secret for overcoming writer's block to help musicians quickly think of new ideas.
"Musicians who are unable to think of new ideas for songs typically are unable to recognize why they can't think of ideas and do not know how to practice songwriting to actually get better at this skill. Until you are able to do these things, you will continue to struggle with writer's block."
He goes on:
"One great way to improve your ability to create songs more easily is to do what I call writing for the trash can. In other words, you practice writing different elements of songs without the desire to use them in music purely to practice the art of songwriting itself. This helps you to overcome writer's block and write song ideas whenever you want because you have developed your songwriting muscle just like lifting weights strengthens your actual muscles over time."
In Hess's resource, he explains to guitar players and musicians what he did in order to overcome his songwriting writer's block.
