Songs for World Peace and SkyBridge Now Collaborating with the I Declare World Peace Project
Music Initiatives Join With IDWP to Raise Global Peace Consciousness
By: I Declare World Peace
Songs for World Peace is managed by co-founders Utako Toyama and Yoshie Nakayama as an initiative by musicians from all over the world to promote world peace through the power of music. Similarly, SkyBridge , founded by Ms. Toyama, seeks to use music to connect people of different backgrounds in order to share love and promote peace. The Brooklyn-based I Declare World Peace project is a power-of-intention art project to raise global peace consciousness through its now famous catchphrase "I Declare World Peace".
Ms. Toyama and Ms. Nakayama noted the common goals between their music-based initiatives and that of the I Declare World Peace project. They said: "We are of like mind that peace is up to the people, and that through both music and art, the will of the people to establish peace can be realized."
Rita Gelber, a co-founder and president of the I Declare World Peace project expressed how happy she was to connect with Ms. Toyama and Ms. Nakayama and their pro-peace musical efforts. "We think Utako and Yoshie have a fabulous approach to raising peace consciousness because everyone loves good music, and they do make good music. We are so happy to help them promote their efforts and to have them helping to promote ours. And of course, the three of us agree that all pro-peace efforts around the world should be encouraged."
All three - Ms. Toyama, Ms. Nakayama, and Ms. Gelber - noted the crucial need for peace promotion in light of the war in Ukraine and the ongoing humanitarian crises in Yemen, Ethiopia, Sudan and other troubled spots in the world.
