Author Jenn Bouchard receives national recognition through the INDEPENDENT PRESS AWARD®!

BOSTON - March 9, 2022 - PRLog -- The INDEPENDENT PRESS AWARD recognized First Course by Jenn Bouchard as a Distinguished Favorite in the category of Women's Fiction.

The competition is judged by experts from different aspects of the book industry, including publishers, writers, editors, book cover designers and professional copywriters. Selected IPA Award Winners and Distinguished Favorites are based on overall excellence.

Set in coastal Maine, First Course (TouchPoint Press) celebrates the central role food plays in our lives. There is food... lots of food. The main character Janie is an incredible cook, and her delicious creations serve as a connection for the Whitman family as they deal with a tragic accident, infidelity, and a host of other issues. Reminiscent of Nora Ephron's classic Heartburn, First Course is about family dynamics, life's second acts, and savoring a delicious antipasto, with plenty of humor and love.

In 2022, the INDEPENDENT PRESS AWARD had entries worldwide.  Authors and publishers from countries such as Australia, Canada, Germany, Ireland, Jordan, Puerto Rico, Switzerland participated.

Books submitted included writers based in cities such as Anchorage to Memphis; from Berkeley to Philadelphia; Calgary to Sydney; from Albuquerque to New York City; from Princeton to Santa Monica as well as others.
