About the Artists
Pianists Asiya Korepanova and Ilya Kazantsev met two decades ago as classmates at the Central Music School under Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory.
They have always enjoyed playing together. Successful career paths brought them to different continents and cities they reconnected in 2019 as new residents of Boston, Massachusetts. Finally able to make their longtime dream come true: they now begin publicly performing as the '88 by 20' duo. Though initial plans were halted by the pandemic, Asiya and Ilya made their public debut at the Third Dimension festival in Oregon in August 2021. They are currently working on their first album program and looking forward to the growing number of performances ahead of them.
