Put the Spooky Back Into Christmas with Spooky Ventures

POPLAR GROVE, Ill. - Nov. 1, 2021 - PRLog -- Spooky Ventures has unleashed "Put the Spooky Back Into Christmas" merchandise today. It's part of Spooky Ventures' founder Gary Hill's quest to bring the Spooky angle of the winter holidays back into the mainstream. In addition to this new merchandise, Hill is publishing a new book via his Tales of Wonder and Dread Publishing imprint titled "Horrifying Holidays" on November 4th.

While it's largely forgotten in the United States, spooky stories, ghosts and Christmas go together. In the UK and Canada spooky stories are a normal part of Christmas tradition. One of the most beloved Christmas stories, "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens is really a ghost story. The rich tradition of telling scary stories for Christmas has been largely discarded in the United States. Via both his operations, Hill is hoping to change that. It's all about his campaign to "put the spooky back into Christmas."

Spooky Ventures is working to become a "go to" source for all things "spooky." Spooky Ventures is a combination entertainment and merchandising company. For now it's strictly on the Internet (with several interconnected pieces of that entity), but there are plans to establish some local physical connections, too. Spooky Ventures' motto is "Keep It Spooky," and that is reflected in all aspects of the endeavor.

The company is focused on a two-pronged approach to bringing spooky concepts to the people. The first of those approaches centers around the entertainment side. There Spooky Ventures has been releasing "Spooky News" segments along with old-time radio shows and audio books as video. There are also "Spooky Interviews," "Spooky Reviews,"  "Spooky Places" and "Spooky Features" vidoes. In addition to the original Spooky Ventures videos there are several playlists of "spooky finds" to entertain.

The second part of the business model focuses on merchandising, and that is mainly focused around the  Spooky Ventures branded merchandise for those interested in all things spooky are available at a CafePress store located at https://www.cafepress.com/SpookyVentures.  That's where the "Put the Spooky Back Into Christmas" merchandise can be found.

Founded in 2018, Poplar Grove based Tales of Wonder and Dread Publishing has released 23 books to date. All the T.O.W.D. books have a focus on science fiction, horror or generally macabre type subject matter.
