Betrayal on Volcano Island begins in the Old Tower, when a boy named Zero is betrayed. A mighty battle ensues between the wise warlock Wintersun from the mountains, who was sometimes called "the master" because he was an alpha male, and King Nimrod, whose army is defeated, leaving Wintersun to create a new community in the forest.

A boy and other free people seek a peaceful existence from any invaders. When the Crusaders arrive, the text of the Holy Trinity is brought with them.

Young readers will especially relate to this historical fantasy that brings together witchcraft and Christianity in a magical tale for the ages.

Darko Krivec Carli grew up in an alpine valley in Slovenia. He now works near the Mediterranean as a hospital medic. "I wanted to give to the West a text in English about Celts living in Eastern Europe, because there were also Celtic communities in Eastern Europe." The author normally writes in the Slovene language. This is his first book in English.
