Chicago Drone Service Company Offers Service for Night Aerial Coverage

CHICAGO - Oct. 12, 2021 - PRLog -- MySkaut Mobility, the leader in commercial low-altitude airspace (CLAA) operations is extending its drone assisted public safety platform to include nighttime services. MySkaut pilots can now support scheduled missions for retailers, business and property owners, and other customers seeking aerial monitoring during evening and overnight hours.

MySkaut FAA certified drone pilots use the Aloft Low Altitude Authorization and Notification Capability (LAANC) app to plan and request air traffic control approval for night flight missions with some lasting through sunrise.

"We've been training to offer nighttime aerial monitoring service for the increased possibility of threats overnight and during seasons where days are shorter.  LAANC system providers were upgrading their apps and the policy change was eminent, so we worked on providing technically proficient, safe flight since May 2021."  Steven C. On September 30, 2021 , an FAA  procedure expired allowing approval requests for nighttime CLAA flights under in near real-time. Actual flight, however, requires significant preparation.

"As the days get shorter, pilots must sharpen their night flying skills and assess their personal minimums to accommodate for the demands of night flight in dense urban areas.  Our training and mission planning ensure we can give customer the benefit of the new FAA rule."

MySkaut pilots must completed FAA night flight training, and fly aircraft equipped with anti-collision lights visible for at least three miles.  The services are available in Chicago sectors where the company currently operates.
