Local Security Firm Partners to Offer Community Control of Drones Services

CHICAGO - Dec. 3, 2020 - PRLog -- United Protection Agency has partnered with MySkaut to offer drone-assisted-public safety services to communities on Chicago's south and west sides.  The two companies teamed up in October 2020 to provide security for an outdoor event hosted by rapper Twista.  They coordinated for an extended perimeter through a combined presence of agents on the ground and routine overflight by piloted drones.

The company recently acquired and is renovating a location in Chicago's Englewood to support its main operations, training of personnel and retail operation.  MySkaut pilots and observers will also train and fly missions up to 3 miles from the facility.

United Protection Agency has been a pioneer of security innovation and  began offering the DAPs service to a test group of retailers in November.  The MySkaut app for residents is expected to be offered to a test group of residents in March 2021.  The app is designed from input gathered from ongoing mobility focus groups with residents, municipal leadership, and business owners with a focus on community members' access and control of public safety and innovation.

MySkaut is the product of Demetrius Brown, Englewood resident and runner up in the Colony 5 Civic Tech Challenge: a competition and accelerator focusing startup development on a specific 1-mile corridor in Chicago.  The contest is open and seeking new startup concepts from the public and participants have joined from all around the world since the September 2020 launch.
