E-commerce in Africa has experienced exceptional growth with the number of online shoppers having increased by 18% annually since 2014, compared to the global average of 12% (UNCTAD 2018). Statista predicts that between 2020 and 2025, African e-commerce will increase at a compound annual growth rate of 15.5%.
