By: MHRCET The featured speaker is Allison Gant, a communications professional, creative writer, and advocate. She suffers from type 2 bipolar disorder, autism, ADD, and depression. Allison will tell her story about how she was diagnosed and how she learned to overcome obstacles and find resolutions. "I spent my youth struggling to understand and explain my symptoms while suffering breakdowns and panic attacks," Gant said. "When I was diagnosed, I finally understood what I was dealing with, and it helped me manage my disorder. I hope my story can help people avoid what I went through, so they ask for help and get what they need to thrive. A health professional will also speak and outline the signs of mental health while providing available resources to help parents or caregivers seeking services. The organization will host a monthly mental health conference through the rest of the 2021 calendar year on specific mental health topics aimed to raise awareness, provide support, and distribute information and resources. During the last year and a half, doctors have seen a spike in adults reporting mental health issues. The pandemic has increased and accelerated mental health challenges, but telehealth provides a solution to those who are struggling. MHRCET hopes to expand its reach to help more people this year. About MHRCET: Primary objectives include providing quality mental health services, educating the public, engaging those in need of support, and advocating for those unable to advocate for themselves.
