The Trust Network has been an informal networking group of alumni from Penn State, Wake Forest University, Michigan State University, and East Carolina University for almost 20 years. This year, Drs. Aneil and Karen Mishra decided to make it an official nonprofit organization by registering it as a 501(c)(3). This will allow the Mishra's to begin applying for grants and raising funds to help them expand their coaching to help more students and alumni learn about their talents, develop their skills and become better prepared for their intended careers. "It is all about fit", explained Dr. Karen Mishra. "Once a student or alum understands how they can use their strengths in a company or specific job, it opens up the doors of opportunity for them, in terms of interests and fit."
The Mishra's use the Clifton Strengths assessment as a way to help students and alumni gauge their top five strengths, which gives them a basis to appreciate what value they bring to an organization. In addition, the Mishra's recently published a book, "College to Career" which outlines ideas to help students and alumni find their best career path.
