BROOKLYN, N.Y. - May 25, 2021 - PRLog -- The release of BadFellas represents something bigger than anything else The Truth & Frank B. have recorded to date. It's the culmination of a seemingly inherent desire from the duo to accurately portray what it means to be an Italian-American who loves hip-hop. By eschewing the stereotypes and gimmicks of the past, they have created something that's entirely their own with BadFellas, a cinematic-rap epic that aims to capture the magic of the work of Scorcese or Puzo.

If their intentions sound grand, it's because The Truth & Frank B. take their art very seriously. They spit true-to-life bars that are equally heavy and vivid, like when Frank raps the following on standout track, "Caruso": "I never wanted to be the guy to say I coulda been, 'cause I know deep down it's that I woulda been/ Look at my sons and wife and think how could I've been?"

Rhymes like those cut deep, but they're effective because that aforementioned "seriousness" applies to every step of the creative process. In other words: they don't mess around when it comes to humor or bravado, either. The Truth makes this clear on the track "FU Pay Me," his personal favorite off the album that boasts lines like, "You think I'm scared cause you know people? I know people too/ Chances are, my people tell your people, what the f*ck to do."

That mentality, that love for the craft is why BadFellas hits you so immediately. And it's only fitting that these two emcees—who hail from Staten Island and Brooklyn, respectively—bonded with one another instantly. After an introductory call through a mutual connection, The Truth & Frank B. realized they were like long-lost brothers who just so happen to complement each other on the mic. "That's It" portrays this brilliantly with its raw lyricism and speaker-knocking production from DJ Qvali.

Just as they set out to do, The Truth & Frank B. have created an album that's both innately Italian-American and universally engaging. BadFellas is as much a middle-finger to the gimmicks of the past as it is a push toward the future. And the best part of it all is that these two are only just getting started.
