Northwestern Mutual-Chicago Names Amani Bryant Director of Internship and Post-Graduate Development

CHICAGO - April 13, 2021 - PRLog -- Northwestern Mutual-Chicago has named Amani Bryant to the role of Director of Internship and Post-Graduate Development.

"Amani is a person who cares deeply about having a positive impact and leading change boldly and courageously," said Corey D. McQuade, managing partner. "Her goal to increase the participation and success of underrepresented and underserved college students in our programs will fuel our vision to be a reflection of the communities we serve."

Bryant will build on Northwestern Mutual's industry-leading program that is recognized by Vault.com (https://www.vault.com/internship-program/commercial-banking-and-financial-services/northwestern-mutual/internship-opportunities) as #3 in the financial services industry, #3 for real-life experience and Top 10 for career development. She will work to develop and deepen partnerships with community-based organizations such as Greenwood Project, a non-profit focused on introducing black and Latinx students to the financial services industry. She plans to collaborate with athletic departments at local universities to create resources and opportunities for collegiate athletes.

"As a former college athlete, a woman and an African-American, I bring my personal experience and expertise to this leadership role," said Bryant. "At the same, I'm also a student of the industry and student of everyone else's experience. Together, we can grow and create an opportunity for all people driven by passion who want to make a positive impact."

Bryant, a native of Tampa, Fla., was a Division I track and field student-athlete at the University of Florida in the Southeastern Conference. A four-year letter winner, she made three appearances at the NCAA Championships, highlighted by earning All-American honors from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.  Bryant earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Event Management.

After graduating from UF, Bryant attended Altis, an elite training program and a global education leader in sports performance. She began her professional career as an assistant coach, holding positions with Penn State University, Loyola University New Orleans and Loyola University Chicago.

A resident of Chicago, she volunteers with Sarah's Circle, a non-profit organization with a mission of serving women who are homeless or in need of a safe space.
