The weekly music history show highlights songs where the lyrics tell a story.
By: SKY 7
The lineup in the first hour includes Johnny Cash, Marty Robbins, Bob Dylan, Gene Pitney, The Walker Brothers, Lefty Frizzell, Harry Chapin, The Charlie Daniels Band, Jimmy Dean, and a couple of rockers named Lorne Greene and Walter Brennan! Gordon Lightfoot kicks off the show.
The second hour starts with a tribute to the man who invented surf guitar - Dick Dale, followed by the Cover of the Week – the Lennon-McCartney composition "I Call Your Name."
The Vintage Tunedex spotlights the KONO 860AM San Antonio, Texas, Sonic 60 for the week of March 31, 1963. You won't hear all 60 songs on the survey, but it is a prototypical snapshot of what regional hit radio sounded like prior to the British invasion.
