NEW YORK - March 13, 2021 - PRLog -- SR Socially Relevant Film Festival 2021 (#SRFF 2021) focuses on another key contemporary social issue with the film bloc Empowering Women and Girls. One feature documentary and four short films are selected: Nino Tropiano's Samira's Dream (Ndoto Ya Samira),  Lori Shockley's Corked, Mariam Ohanyan's The House That Tsoghik Built,  Robin Starbuck's How We See Water, and Nora Armani's iMigrant Women. The program will go live Monday, March 15th, and remain available throughout the week. A "Meet the Filmmakers" LIVE online session will be held on Monday, March 15, at 2:30 PM EST broadcast LIVE on YouTube. Tickets available via the festival website.

Monologues of migrant women juxtaposed to tell the various immigrant experiences of women who find themselves in a foreign country away from their loved ones, and as the sole means of providing for them.

"Empowering women is a universal right. We are grateful to the filmmakers who are dedicating their energy to illuminating these issues for the public. If enough voices speak together, eventually real change can be made," says festival Founding Artistic Director Nora Armani.

SR Socially Relevant ™ Film Festival New York is a 501(c)3 non-profit film festival founded by actress Nora Armani. The Mission of the SR Film Festival is to shine the spotlight on filmmakers who tell compelling, socially relevant™, human interest stories, across a broad range of social issues. The festival was created as a response to the proliferation of violence and violent forms of storytelling in media and entertainment. SR™ believes in the power of cinema in raising awareness of social issues and promoting positive social change. During its first six years, the festival showcased over 350 films from 35 countries. Submissions for SRFF 2021 are now open and are received from all over the world.
