Plan For Retailing After Lockdown Says Retail Display Company

The company believes that signage will play an important role. Customers will gain confidence if they can clearly see the shops' Covid-secure policies. Signage will also help to direct customers directly to the products they are looking for and give them enough information as possible to help them make a buying decision.

"Social distancing rules will remain in place so fewer customers can be in the shop at any one time. so anything that helps speed up the customer journey is important. Signs, posters, point of sale and digital displays can all be used to achieve this aim."

During 2020 many High Street stores will have gone online so they will need to arrange for clear collection points for online sales.

All the above means there will be less space instore so point of sale, point of purchase and displays will have to be even more effective at storing, displaying and promoting product ranges.  Sampling, tasting and touching are out, so these display areas will need to re-used or replaced, but retailers will need to create different experiences to make the visit as pleasurable as possible - and one the customer will wish to repeat.
