MaxECM successfully supports Go Live of OpenText™ VIM on SAP S4HANA at European steel company

MIAMI - Sept. 15, 2020 - PRLog -- MaxECM Solutions LLC, a boutique software and service provider for SAP ECM and Opentext solutions, has successfully supported the upgrade and go live of OpenText™ Vendor Invoice Management for SAP® Solutions (VIM), the leading accounts payable automation solution for SAP, on SAP S/4HAHA at a leading European steel corporation.

With over 25,000 employees and over 150 subsidiaries worldwide, the company is a leader in the manufacture of steel and technology products and has a history of over 150 years in the industry. The company processes over 1 million accounts payable transactions per year in three shared service center locations in Central Europe.

After using OpenText™ Vendor Invoice Management for SAP® Solutions (VIM) on SAP ECC6 for over 8 years, the company decided to upgrade VIM as part of a general SAP system upgrade to S/4HANA. The implementation involves the upgrade of OpenText™ VIM version 7 to version 16.3 in existing SAP systems that are upgraded to S/4HANA and in new S/4HANA instances. Imaging functionality is provided by OpenText™ Archive Center for SAP. Inbound channels are using optical character recognition (OCR) with OpenText™ Business Center 16.3.1 (BCC). In addition, the project involves a redesign of corporate accounts payable processing standards. BCC will be used to process invoice documents that are received in paper format as well via email as PDF attachments.

The implementation includes other VIM core functionalities, such as a complex set of VIM business rules, data enrichment with custom logic modules, filtering of background processing options, DP dashboard validation and processing, non-PO invoice approval, dialog and background posting, and multi-level processing of payment blocks set manually by processors and by standard SAP LIV, with invoices, credit memos, and down-payments in scope.

Additional functionalities that were implemented are a system landscape with one central SAP system and multiple satellite SAP systems, where several company codes are sharing a satellite instance. The central - / satellite system landscape includes cross-version processes with the central system running on SAP S/4HANA with some satellites running on S/4HANA and others on ECC6.

At this time, the company has successfully gone live with seven out of over twenty company codes using the described landscape and feature set. Further go lives are planned by the end of 2020.
