ChowderMonth Count Down! Who is Cooking?

SHIP BOTTOM, N.J. - Aug. 24, 2020 - PRLog -- Things are heating up in the kitchens throughout the Long Beach Island Region, as the iconic Chowderfest goes into a hybrid format to support local eateries and merchants. The Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce invites all to enjoy their favorite tradition a new way, by visiting restaurants, ordering to go chowders or adding it  to your dining order.

"From new competitors to current champions, there is a true spirit that goes into competing each fall" says CEO Lori Pepenella. "Chowderfest is being celebrated with COVID19 restrictions in mind along with everyone's comfort level so they can visit their favorites as well as venture to new restaurants."  Chowdermonth will take place September 5 and run through October 4. Voting is free, by submitting an email and receiving a Virtual Information Package with Chowder playlist, digital mapping and merchant details at www.chowderfest.com

2020 competitors include a tremendous line up such as: Three time Grand Champion Lefty's Tavern Barnegat with their award winning Manhattan, Barnegat Light features Daymark's New England Chowda, Beach Haven's  Buckalews Tavern  with Tuscan Lobster Chowder, The Woo Hoo with Crabzilla, Country Kettle Chowda with Lobsta Bisque, Tucker's Tavern New England, Polly's Dock with Hermain's Hearty Chowder and Panzone's at both Beach Haven and Surf City Locations offering Smoked Manhattan. Long Beach Township has Beach Haven Terrance's own Terrace Tavern is serving up New Jersey Clam Chowder, Roberto's Dolce Vita offering Robbie's Red Clam Chowder, Living on the Veg has their take on Manhattan, Kubels Too has entered New England Clam Chowder, Daddy O in Brant Beach has Manhattan and Birdy's Cafe and Artisan Market with Manhattan Clam.  A visit to Ship Bottom brings you to The Gateway's New England , The Arlington's Manhattan, and Dune 18's Crab & Corn Chowder. Stafford Township has Cluck'n Crabs with their Cluck'n Red and Old Causeway Steak & Oyster brings OC Red. Ott's Good Earth Garden in West Creek offers Jersey Street Corn and Crab chowder and back on LBI, the Surf City Hotel is all in with their New England.
