By: Urban Academics Online Tonight, Patrina Reddick, MSW takes the "HOT-Seat" on why most schools, students, and teachers fail and why this doesn't have to be your child. She'll share strategies for parents who need help, who to call and when? On this call, parents and folks working with children and families will learn what they must do now to make sure their children do not fall through the cracks. Where do you turn when you're not sure what to do next, but need help now? Where do you turn when your child has a learning disorder, or mental health diagnosis? What is the logical chain of command? Either way, according to Ms. Reddick, parents need to be prepared to act-like/be a teacher even if they're not ready to be one. Schools as we knew it is over, and no one will do this for you, but you can get help during covid. Helping school systems and state departments of education with pressing issues around the educating of black, brown, poor, and other kids living the inner-city urban experience has been her niche for years. The Urban Academics Roundtable hosts weekly intellectual talk around issues relating to black, brown, poor, and others living the inner-city urban experience, Thursdays at 9:30 PM (EST). Here's your invitation to accept a seat at this week's Urban Academics Roundtable. You can "Accept Invite" simply by joining in on this week's talk or Thursday's at 9:30 PM (EST).
