STONY BROOK, N.Y.
- Aug. 4, 2020
-- The Stony Brook School, the leading provider of faith-based middle and secondary school education, is launching Stony Brook Global, its full-service online learning platform available starting this September. Using state of the art digital teaching tools, including true interaction with students and faculty to ensure the best possible online experience, Stony Brook Global offers a robust alternative to the remote or distance learning options being proposed by public and private schools during the COVID-19 crisis. "When we started casting our online vision over a year ago, little did we know that we could extend our unique mission to families stranded globally due to COVID," remarked Head of School, Joshua Crane. "We are grateful for the privilege to help families in crisis with our powerful, interactive program."
In addition to its full-time diploma option, Stony Brook Global is offering a dual degree program for students who need an affordable way to dramatically improve their college applications. "We are eager to accept credits from partner high schools so the student can take advanced courses from us and is awarded two degrees," offered Sean Riley, Academic Dean. Graduates of Stony Brook Global join an elite group with 36% matriculating to top 25 schools including all the Ivies, Stanford, and MIT. Riley commented, "Our Alumni prove that character and faith are consistent with college and career success."
Joshua Crane states, "We have planned for over a year to be able to offer students and parents an outstanding, brand-name recognition education at an affordable price to continue to expand our core Mission: on campus, online, anywhere, anytime. It is all about the student's successful outcome no matter the modality."
The tuition for Stony Brook Global is approximately 50% of The Stony Brook School's day program, making an elite education more accessible to families across the country. Students are also welcome to transfer to Stony Brook Global mid-school year, which offers a good avenue if public school systems are forced to close in-school learning due to a COVID-19 surge.
Stony Brook Global will offer courses from its world-renowned course catalogue, including specialized electives taught by professionals as well as the core requirements. So often parents need to choose between the values that they hold dear and the quality of education they want their children to have. Stony Brook Global gives parents the option to have both.
