MR.LEATHER64TEN 2020 Contest Winner Announcement
Leather64TEN proudly announces T Wayne as MR.LEATHER64TEN 2020. Although we did host our contest in March 2020, we opted to hold off on this announcement at that time due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
T Wayne was born and raised in the southern states of Texas and Arkansas but moved to Chicago almost 5 years ago for a taste of Midwest living. T Wayne has been in happy wedded bliss for over 26 years to huzbear Blake and Sir to RJ for 4 years.
When asked why he chose to compete in the 2020 MR.LEATHER64TEN Contest, T Wayne said "Looking deep within myself, I realized I wanted to win the title not only for myself but to help others in the community. My personal journey here in Chicago's leather community had made me a mentor, guide & recognized person that others were coming to for answers and guidance. I wanted to offer myself to represent 64TEN, the Leather/Kink groups/individuals, my Leather family and friends, and Chicago to create awareness that everyone can find their place in society. If you're interested in Leather, the lifestyle, and the social aspect of it, I'll offer myself to help you find that path and journey."
We asked T Wayne if he had any words of wisdom for anyone thinking about competing and he said "If you ever thought about competing, go for it! It will change you and impact your life for the better. I realized that regardless of being chosen to represent the Title or not, I was part of something large than just myself and several other people up on that stage. Pursue it. You'll have an experience like no other that you'll cherish til the end of your days."
We asked him what he thought the moment he was announced as the winner, to which he replied "It was a surreal moment. I still kinda am in disbelief sometimes.... that plain ole average guy me was chosen to represent a Leather Title. It was an AMAZING experience."
All of us at Leather64TEN were so grateful and yet very lucky to be able to host this amazing contest weekend just days before we were mandated to temporarily close due to the lockdown from the pandemic. Although our attendance was definitely affected by the pandemic, we were still able to host a successful event and raise over $2,000 for the Leather Archives & Museum. We'd like to thank everyone that came out to support our contest weekend.
