Doctor Wilfred Van Gorp discusses the impact of Covid-19 of students

NEW YORK - April 24, 2020 - PRLog -- Doctor Wilfred Van Gorp weighed in on how Covid-19 is affecting students who are now unable to take the SAT and ACT exams, as well as properly prepare for college.

Dr. Van Gorp is a New York City-based neuropsychologist. He is a mental health professional certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology, with decades of experience. He is also a former President of the American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology

One of his specialties is in counseling students in preparation for standardized tests. With SATs and other milestones, such as college visits, postponed as a result of the pandemic, Dr. Van Gorp expects there will be an urgent need for testing accommodations come fall, when life presumably will be closer to normal for most people.

When it comes to college admissions, the lack of standardized testing has "put the applicant in an odd position," he told amNewYork, adding that the SAT and ACT tests have a "certain tempo," which has now been thrown off, due to the uncertainty of when they will be held.
