Doctor Wilfred Van Gorp speaks about how Covid-19 effects students

NEW YORK - April 15, 2020 - PRLog -- As students throughout the country are now, unable to take the SAT and ACT, as well as properly prepare for college, Doctor Wilfred Van Gorp weight in on how this will affect students.

Dr. Van Gorp is a New York City-based neuropsychologist and former President of the American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology who is certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology, with decades of experience in the industry.

One of his specialties is in preparing students to take standardized tests. With SATs and other milestones, such as college visits, postponed as a result of the pandemic, Dr. Van Gorp expects there will be an urgent need for testing accommodations come fall, when life presumably will be closer to normal for most people.

When it comes to college admissions, the lack of standardized testing has "put the applicant in an odd position," He told amNewYork, adding that the SAT and ACT tests have a "certain tempo," which has now been thrown off, due to the uncertainty of when they will be held. This leaves students unable to properly study for the exam.
