LIGHT THE WAY by TOBE BAER Drops Thursday, December 12 with Rockwood Music Hall Concert

Tobe, a native Canadian, grew up mostly in the San Francisco Bay Area. He was exposed to a variety of global influences while traveling with his musician parents. After graduating with a BS in Bioengineering from UC Santa Cruz and teaching for three years, he finally came to the realization that the one thing he is meant to do is make music. He spent a year writing, recording, and producing in Germany with his brother Janosch producer and owner of Lautstumm Studios, before coming back to the states and settling in Brooklyn. Tobe and Janosch have spent over 8 years creating Tobe's debut album. The album releases March 2020; the brothers are partnering with New York indie label, KeyMedia Group on the releases.
Mixing soul, pop and folk, his music is organically indie, from the inside out. His sound is fresh and groove-oriented, mixing a blend of old school Motown sound, with European techno and British production sensibility. His approach to his music is sensual and realistic; he sings about friends, girlfriends, aspirations, frustrations and everyday life in a big city, with the inner complexities we all feel, chiming in. He sorts out his thoughts in his notebooks, writing about his darkest moments and his greatest hopes. He loves making music, and it's been that way since he first picked up his dad's acoustic guitar when he was a kid. That guitar is now his main instrument. You can often find Tobe on the streets of Brooklyn and Manhattan, going from place A to B, with his guitar on his back, surfing around the traffic on his electric scooter or shooting hoops with his Brooklyn cronies. The single LIGHT THE WAY will be available starting December 12, on iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, and most music outlets; being distributed by CD Baby.
