WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Nov. 25, 2019 - PRLog -- Yours Humanly, a Northern California-based nonprofit that provides underprivileged children in underserved communities around the world access to quality educational programs and resources, held its fifth annual Break a Sweat For Education 5K Run & Walk on October 5 at Heather Farm Park (Walnut Creek) and raised more than $28,000 for its cause. Proceeds from the event will go toward local and global programs and resources that enhance the educational experiences of disadvantaged children.

This year, Yours Humanly partnered with MDUSD Education Foundation and because of their partnership, a portion of the proceeds from the 5K fundraiser will go directly to underserved schools in the Mt. Diablo Unified School District. On October 21, Yours Humanly Founder & CEO Sunny Singh and Yours Humanly board members delivered a check in the amount of $3,600 to the MDUSD Education Foundation board at MDUSD headquarters (Concord). The funds will help bring hands-on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) enrichment opportunities to MDUSD students of all ages.
