The four main parts of a ball bearing are as follows:
• Inner Race – It is the part of the ball bearing which is mounted on the revolving shaft and also tends to move the shaft in circles.

• Rolling Element – The balls or the rolling elements carry the load and distribute it across the raceways. They tend to revolve around the inner race, but at a speed lower than the one with which the inner race revolves.
• Cage – It is a very important element of the bearing and acts as a wall between the balls and stopping the balls from bumping against each other.

Working:
The balls in the bearing are placed in the inner race and the outer one is placed above the balls. The cage is used for preventing the slippage and the balls from bumping against each other. When the load has to be transferred, the balls run along the race on the outside and thus the load can be transferred with almost minimum friction.

Load carrying capability:
Ball bearings have a decent capability of running at high speeds, but at the same time average at the task of carrying loads. Ball bearings are only able to carry medium loads and thus is of great use in almost every household items such as grinders, ceiling fans, mixers, etc.
