PetHub Announces First Recipient of New Award
By: PetHub, Inc.
"Every year, during Animal Welfare Week, we look for ways to honor and celebrate the amazing organizations we work with," said PetHub's founder, Tom Arnold. "This year, we decided to raise the bar and create an official award to present to a partner who is exemplary at being PAWsome to pets and their people within the community they serve. San Diego Humane was the obvious choice as we continue to be impressed by the organization's commitment to innovation, safety and compassionate care for the pets they help every day."
Awarded annually, PetHub's Animal Welfare Partner of the Year will include a custom benefit designed to improve and enhance the organization's tag program with PetHub. This year's custom benefit award for San Diego Humane Society will help them further enhance their lost pet recovery calls through PetHub's 24/7 Found Pet Hotline.
PetHub's Solutions Program works with organizations like San Diego Humane Society to provide digital ID tags for pet licensing, rabies and other identification programs. Municipalities and organizations using PetHub digital tags see an increase in licensing numbers & license retention, as well as a reduction of animals entered into the local shelter system and cost reductions due to increased return to owner (RTO) rates. About PetHub and SDHS
PetHub, Inc., started in 2010 by former Microsoft employee, Tom Arnold, to combat the issue of low RTO ("return to owner") rates for lost animals. Combining software with a physical ID tag allows anyone to help a lost animal get home quickly, often avoiding a trip to a vet or a shelter. 96% of PetHub recovered "pack members" are home in under 24-hours, and less than 2% ever enter a shelter. PetHub's award-winning platform has multiple software and hardware patents pending on its ID tags and Internet services. Find success stories at http://PetHubFound.me. The company's tags are now in over 250 communities in the United States as pet license or rabies tags, and nearly 20,000 new pets are being added to the website monthly.
San Diego Humane Society's scope of social responsibility goes beyond adopting animals. We offer programs that strengthen the human-animal bond, prevent cruelty and neglect, provide medical care, educate the community and serve as a safety net for all pet families. Serving San Diego County since 1880, San Diego Humane Society has campuses located in Escondido, Oceanside and San Diego. For more information;
