YONKERS, N.Y. & WENATCHEE, Wash. - Oct. 24, 2017 - PRLog -- PetHub, Inc., the leader in digital pet identification, announced today that team member Rebecca Breese has been named a category winner in the annual Pet Industry Woman of the Year Award competition.

Breese, who has been part of the PetHub  team for the last year, was nominated in the "Rising Star" category. (The other award categories are Solopreneur, Entrepreneur, Corporate, and Advocate.)

An anonymous panel of four independent judges reviewed and scored nominations for applicants in the five categories. These judges came from a wide range of backgrounds: Director of a non-profit organization, Founder of a successful pet organization, COO of a successful design firm, Director of a top women's scholarship organization.

"The Pet Industry Women of the Year awards were designed to recognize the amazing females who dedicate their time and talents to improving the lives of all pets – dogs, cats, birds, fish, horses and exotics – and their parents/guardians," said Shawna Schuh, president of WIPIN. "These awards are a celebration of women who have made highly successful careers in the pet industry: They shine in large part because they are so passionate about helping women as well as pets. Rebecca Breese is a perfect example. It is exciting to honor her and other women with a genuine calling to make the pet industry stronger."

Breese, a graduate of Cornell University, is the Assistant Director of Municipal Programs at PetHub, Inc., the leader in modern, digital pet identification.  Breese, who works in and manages PetHub's New York office has been instrumental in helping the company build its new municipal program that helps communities bring modern lost pet recovery services into their local animal services departments. PetHub, Inc., was founded in 2010 and is directly responsible for returning thousands of animals to their families. "The Rising Star recognizes not just my accomplishments, but also PetHub's investment in the next generation and new pet parents," said Breese. "It takes a lot of time to train new young people to the workforce and is not something many businesses take on. PetHub's forethought will make sure PetHub's mission to help lost pets get home fast is carried on for generations to come. I'm also thrilled that this award brings attention to the lifesaving work that PetHub brings to local pet licensing programs across the United States."

This is the second Pet Industry Woman of the Year Award for PetHub. In 2014, PetHub's Director of Marketing, Lorien Clemens, won the Corporate category, as well as, the Overall Top Woman of the Year Award.
