By: Long Island Elite Football In Long Island, a well-known hotbed for Lacrosse, LIE495 presents a similar opportunity for football players giving them a chance to travel across the country and play the top competition. Players are selected through a series of tryouts, coach recommendations, and film submissions. This year the LIE495 teams have been selected to compete in the D1 All-American Bowl against teams from Georgia, Tennessee, Missouri, South Carolina, Florida, and several other football strongholds. The tournament takes place in Atlanta, Georgia January 18th 19th and 20th. The coaching staff of Long Island Elite is a who's who of the top youth, varsity, and college coaches in the area from both private and public schools. There are even some former NFL players on the coaching staff. While there is a small registration fee, the program is not a typical "pay-to-play" "We are pleased that our teams have been selected to represent the state of New York in the Atlanta tournament", said Stella Genova, Operations Manager. Stella is also the Chairwoman of the prestigious Liberty Challenge game which was held at Robert Kraft Stadium at Columbia University in Manhattan this past June. It was the most heavily anticipated youth football event ever held in Manhattan.
