U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville Commits to Collaborate with the National Dem

WASHINGTON - Aug. 6, 2019 - PRLog -- The U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville, is collaborating with the National Demolition Association (NDA) to advance best practices for the demolition industry. The partnership is mutually beneficial and will have a significant impact on the safety and well-being of workers in the demolition industry and the successful completion of U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) projects.

The partnership will give USACE access to NDA education and training programs and provide companies and workers the skills and knowledge necessary to mitigate risk and enhance opportunities for success. The partnership also benefits Huntsville Center's Facility Reduction Program by providing a "pool" of safe, reliable best-in-class demolition contractors to bid on projects to service USACE projects.

Additionally, NDA members benefit from USACE training. "Their session at this year's Annual Convention and Expo, was second to none, with solid information on navigating contracting opportunities," said NDA President, Chris Godek

The partnership compliments the NDA Safety Program as the Huntsville Center's Facilities Reduction Program eliminates excess facilities and structures to reduce Government energy and maintenance costs, eliminate safety hazards, nuisances, and unsightly structures, and free up valuable Government real estate for future development.

Access to risk management best practices and resources through USACE will give NDA members the tools to offer safe and reliable demolition support.

"The partnership also provides a 'pool' of best-in-class demolition contractors to bid on projects to service USACE projects," said Michelle Clark, Huntsville Center's FRP manager.

"We are excited to enter into this strategic partnership", said Godek. "This partnership will provide benefits to NDA members and demolition end-users. The USACE has proven to be a group of forward thinking collaborative individuals, with a common goal of completing work efficiently, on time, and safely. Access to NDA experts, training, and best practices ensures the highest standards of work is performed on USACE projects. This partnership is one of many that will provide benefits to both NDA members and demolition end-users"

The Huntsville Center's Facility Reduction Program and NDA will host each organizations' industry experts at events and conference and facilitate training and education for USACE contractors. The two organizations will collaborate to assess, contribute, and utilize recommendations in the continual development and promotion of the Foundations of Demolition Management Series in capability/capacity assessments and referral in the Multiple Award Task Order Contract (MATOC) process.
