Chicago Dramatists To Host Benefit August 3, 2019
By: Chicago Dramatists
Imagine being transported to a loft above the streets of Paris, served French cocktails and fine foods, and being entertained among dramatists, lyricists and other artists.
This amazing night will celebrate the imagination and power of playwrights and the characters they create. Guests are encouraged to let go of inhibitions and dress as their favorite hero or villain from stage or screen. (Costumes are optional but merriment is required!) A place to connect with some of Chicago's top playwrights, actors, instructors, and producers, proceeds from the Celebration will support emerging playwrights, outreach to homeless youth, adult literacy and scholarships.
The fun takes place Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Chicago Dramatists, 1105 West Chicago Avenue in Chicago, beginning at 7 p.m. After Party fun and dancing to the DJ music of JHenry is from 11:30 p.m. to 2 a.m.
"It's your opportunity to get more involved in the theater community, give back, AND have fun all in one night," said Michael Keating, President and Chair of the Board of Directors of the Chicago Dramatists, in a statement.
"Emotions make humans unique. La nuit d'amour dramatique celebrates the playwright's skill to create characters who elicit strong, emotional response from audiences," continued Keating. "It's a gala that celebrates this art form and the power writers have to transform and influence our lives."
Tickets are $110.00 each and include an After-Party ticket. For those who can't make the main event, After-Party tickets are $35.00 each.
