OMAHA, Neb. - July 13, 2019 - PRLog -- Dialysis Clinic, Inc. (DCI) will host an open house on Thursday, July 18, from 10:00am – 12:00pm at 7070 Spring St., Omaha. The ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 10:30am.

The community is invited to tour the dialysis facility, meet the staff, and enjoy refreshments.

"DCI is a non-profit dialysis provider and we provide care for the entire spectrum of kidney disease. We invite the community to come out and learn more about kidney disease while getting to know DCI," stated Jen Walker, RN, DCI Nurse Manager.

The centrally located DCI Spring Street dialysis unit provides in-center hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and home hemodialysis.

"In addition to dialysis services, we have REACH Kidney Care, our chronic kidney disease education team that can meet with individuals and discuss ways to slow the progression of kidney disease, educate those near kidney failure about their options, and provide transplant guidance and support," explained Walker.

DCI operates four dialysis units within 20 miles of Omaha: DCI Spring Street, DCI Omaha, DCI Bellevue, and DCI West Omaha.

3,213 people in Nebraska are living with kidney failure, according to 2019 numbers from USRDS. 230 Nebraskans are on the kidney transplant waiting list, according to July 11, 2019, UNOS data.

Kidney disease is the 9th leading cause of death among adults in the U.S. Diabetes and high blood pressure are the leading causes of kidney disease.

"The open house is one way for us to educate our community about how to identify kidney disease and ways to prevent kidney failure. Also, if you're facing kidney failure, you will have the opportunity to talk to our staff and get a better understanding of the treatment options that are available," stated Walker. "We'd love to meet you at the open house!"
