"Prayer brings peace" says Weiss
- July 8, 2019
-- Everyone wants peace says Golden Prayer author Edward Weiss, but not everyone wants to do what's necessary to attain it. For Weiss, that means loving God more
than the world. A simple proposition, but one many find extremely difficult to do. Especially if they start later on in life. Edward comments…
"We all want peace, but most of us have been conditioned to pursue the world first, God second or not at all. Here is the problem. Prayer works to correct this problem. As we pray, we necessarily
put God first. The more we do it, the more our vision corrects until one day we awake, and it is not us that is living our life, but God living His life through us. This is the highest virtue we can attain, and that through the power of prayer."
In his book The Golden Prayer
, Weiss offers a simple way to surrender to God in the form of a six-word prayer. According to Weiss, by letting go of our tight grip on the world, we can start to enjoy the peace we desire. Weiss explains...
"Our whole lives, we've been trained to put the world first. To be happy in the world. This is the cardinal error as we can never truly be free
in the world. We need to know God to be free. More than that, we need to put Him first. Here is the path that leads to peace and freedom. But the path is not easy. This is where prayer comes to the rescue. The more we pray, the more we bring God to mind, the more peace we will have in our lives."
