Two Yoga-urt Locations Earn Three Swirls from IFYA's Swirl of Honor Program

LOS ANGELES - July 2, 2019 - PRLog -- The International Frozen Yogurt Association (IFYA) is proud to welcome its newest member, Yoga-urt, to the Swirl of Honor^TM program. Yoga-urt opened its first retail location in Glendale's health conscious Kenneth Village in July 2015, and opened a second retail location in Echo Park in June 2019. Both locations earned three swirls, the maximum possible number of swirls, based on frozen yogurt quality, store cleanliness, superior customer service, and environmentally friendly business practices.

The Swirl of Honor^TM Program was launched by the IFYA in late 2013 to recognize excellence in frozen yogurt. It is the first and only quality seal program specifically for frozen yogurt stores. Recipients receive one to three Swirls (1 = good, 2 = very good, 3 = excellent) based on how they meet IFYA standards.

Yoga-urt, with locations in Glendale and Echo Park (Los Angeles), brings the Namaste into people's lives by providing nourishment for those seeking a healthier life by enjoying organic, dairy-free, soy-free treats in a peaceful setting.

Yoga-urt was founded by LA based project manager Melissa Schulman after the concept took hold of her during what she called her "Yoga Bubble Year." This was a year she took off from her career to focus on her personal yoga practice by taking classes, doing a teacher training course, going on retreats, working in a yoga studio and more.

One afternoon, she and her cousin were riffing on the "yoga/yogurt" connection. While many people have made that connection jokingly, Melissa couldn't let go of the concept of an upscale yogurt bar serving tasty organic soft serve, smoothies, coffee, and tea with a yoga studio ambiance.
