BEAUMONT, Texas - June 1, 2019 - PRLog -- What is education? Education does have different meanings to many different people. Webster's dictionary states, "Education: To supply with training or schooling; to supervise the mental or moral growth of." The meaning of education transcends many levels. My educational philosophy is that education is meant to ensure the survival of all people. In addition, my educational philosophy is that all students can learn given their ideal environment. My educational philosophy is blended between two movements; essentialism and progressivism. Since essentialist believe in developing certain societal skills in order for children to survive in our society, and progressivists believe that nature is ever changing and students should learn from their natural world, then people would classify me as an essential-progressivist. The educational philosophy that I follow would have students learn how to interact socially with people in a positive manner, how to react to negative situations and have students to develop into life-long independent learners. The writing prompt is not a unique situation to our educational system, more-over, our students are conditioned to depend on their teachers to "give" them the answers. Our educational system has conditioned our students to be apathetic towards their academic endeavors.

Many times our educational system produces students that are not prepared to cope with the various barriers that are presented to them. Students must learn how to interact socially with people in a positive manner. Classroom culture and climate plays a huge role in the social development of our students. Classroom culture is the place that our students learn first how to talk to other people with respect, respect other people's space, respect people's possessions and respect themselves as people. Teachers are sometimes the first real influence that our students are influenced to mimic, so I think that it is very important to assign the correct educators to educate our students. Students are "tabla rasa", meaning they are a clean slate. Our students can easily be influenced in a negative way. Many times students are confronted by negative situations, in which, they are not prepared to deal with. Educators can positively influence our students, and teach them to cope with negative situations. Many times our students react to negative situations by acting negatively. I think that the educational system should teach our students to be essentialist, more-over, I think that we should train our educators to be essentialist. Life is always ever changing, and we must adapt to the changing situations. It is very essential to develop our students into problem solvers and life-long learners. Educational training classes should be developed to train up-and-coming educators; how to prepare our students to be problem solvers and life-long learners? Progressionism is a vital movement to improve the educational system. Our writing prompt is a prime example of why we should teach our educators and students how and why they should become progressionist. Our students are dependent upon others to help them solve problems (give them the answers). If we educate our students in a progressionism manner, then they will become problem solvers. Until we educate educators utilizing essential-progressionism, our educational system will continue to utilize old practices that does not address today's learner (the 21^st century learner).
