Follow on Google News | The International Propeller Club Announces John Cullather as Executive Vice PresidentBy: International Propeller Club of the United States Mr. Cullather is a well-known figure in the maritime community. He served for more than thirty-two years as a professional staff member in the U.S. House of Representatives as Staff Director of the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, and the Subcommittee on Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation. During his career in Congress, he advanced policy and legislation involving all aspects of marine transportation including the Maritime Transportation Security Act of 2002, numerous Coast Guard Authorization bills, and the complete recodification of Title 46, U.S. Code which rewrote all of the Coast Guard's vessel inspection, manning and licensing laws. Among his many honors, he was awarded the Distinguished PublicService Award from the U.S. Coast Guard, the Samuel Plimsoll Award from the editors of Professional Mariner Magazine, and the President's Award from the National Association of Boating Safety Law Administrators. Rear Admiral Joel Whitehead, USCG (Retired), International President of the Propeller Club said the following: "I am thrilled that our organization has brought on such a knowledgeable maritime thinker. John will help us advance the goals of the maritime industry by growing our membership, providing enhanced networking opportunities, and developing and implementing the strategic goals of the Club."
