DETROIT - April 29, 2019 - PRLog -- Singer, songwriter and actress Beth Griffith-Manley was recently a contestant on Season 16 of NBC's "The Voice" starring coaches Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine and John Legend. Beth caught the ear of John Legend and Kelly Clarkson during her blind audition with a version of "Until You Come Back to Me" by the late Aretha Franklin. She chose Kelly Clarkson as her coach,but was later stolen by John Legend during the The Voice Battles and joined his team.

Beth is a Detroit native and still resides there. Beth's father, the late Johnny Griffith was a member of the famed Grammy-Award winning Motown band The Funk Brothers which created the legendary Motown sound.

While working as a receptionist at Harmonie Park Music Studios in Detroit, Beth began doing voice-over work and singing on demos for the in-house producers there. She caught the ear of legendary producer Michael J. Powell.

Powell introduced Beth to eight-time Grammy Award winner Anita Baker also from the Detroit area, who hired her as a background vocalist. Beth spent five years touring the world with Ms. Baker.

She is currently a background vocalist for Motown recording artist Kem.

As a SAG/AFTRA singer and actress, Beth has held various roles. Beth was cast as the body double and stand in for the late Whitney Houston in her last movie filmed in Detroit "Sparkle." Beth has also been a principle vocalist on the ABC network's Dancing With The Stars (Season 22) and The Starz Network's Ash vs Evil Dead.

Beth was also handpicked by the late Aretha Franklin to be one of her tribute show singers in 2016 during the annual Detroit Music Weekend festival which honored Aretha Franklin held in Detroit.

Beth released her debut album in August of 2017 titled "Free." The album features the title cut "Free" and also a remake of the R&B classic "I Just Want to Be Your Girl" originally sung by Anita Baker while in Chapter 8 and produced by the original Michael J. Powell. Her album also features song by Grammy nominated producers Cordell Walton, Marcus Devine, and Erik "Blu2th" Griggs.

In October 2018, Beth penned and released an upbeat dance single "Perfect Kind of Trouble" Producer by Cordell Walton.
