NORFOLK, Va. - April 5, 2019 - PRLog -- The foundation for this book was formed during the most tender moments that I spent with my mother. We would just sit outside or in her living room and talk.

She would tell me what she was thinking—usually about her adolescent years or other special memories from her past.

I would listen to her intently, as if I were hearing her stories for the first time. I knew it meant a great deal to her.

But then came one of the most painful days in both our lives. My mother had a devastating stroke. She was paralyzed and could no longer speak. From then on, she couldn't say anything to me or anyone else—not a word.

Although it was extremely difficult to bear, I was thankful we'd not wasted the opportunities God had given us to express our love for one another.

It gave me comfort to know we had not taken those times for granted. I was certain my mother understood how very much I cared for her.

As you might expect, this book is about sharing, caring and making the most of the opportunities God gives you to love and encourage others.

About the Author:

Langston, a retired naval officer, faithfully served his country for 27 years before writing the final chapter of his career in 2003.

He is a husband, a father, a grandfather and senior pastor of the Pilgrim Outreach Ministries.

James is ordained and licensed through World Evangelism Fellowship of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

He is a 1976 graduate of El Campo high school in El Campo, Texas.

Langston has authored 16 books.

His books cover a variety of subjects including, "life events and choices", "a praying grandmother", "parenting", "building a church", "a crisis in our nation", "recovering from a fall", "daily  words  of  encouragement" and "the consequences of ignoring God and His Word".

James and his wife Cecilia have been married for more than 40 years.
