Pet Professional Guild opens applications window for 2019 scholarships

WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. - April 4, 2019 - PRLog -- The Pet Professional Guild (PPG) has opened the window for this year's scholarship applicants to further their education in the field of force-free pet care, training and behavior consulting. Thus, between April 5 - May 5, 2019, candidates are  invited to submit their applications under the PPG Education Scholarship Program. Each year, PPG hands out a number of awards to those seeking to undertake educational programs offered by organizations that support its Guiding Principles and goals, with a focus on modern, humane and scientifically sound training methods that forgo the use of outdated, aversive training methods or equipment.

Full, associate, and provisional PPG, PPGA and PPGBI members across all training and pet care specialties are deemed eligible scholarship applicants, provided they are a current member and in good standing for a minimum of 12 months. PPG must receive scholarship applications between April 5 and May 5, 2019 via the form located on its website (https://petprofessionalguild.com/Scholarship-Program). All applications will be reviewed by the scholarship selection committee, which includes members of the PPG education committee, the PPG steering committee and a PPG board member. Final scholarship recommendations will be forwarded to the PPG board of directors, who will notify all applicants of the outcome of their applications no later than June 15, 2019. Scholarship funds will be remitted directly to the educational provider and not the candidate.

Since the Education Scholarship Program was launched in 2017, successful applicants have undertaken education at  Peaceable Paws Academy in Fairplay, Maryland; The Academy for Dog Trainers in Emeryville, California; DogNostics Career Center (online); Behavior Works (online); and the Karen Pryor Academy for Animal Training and Behavior in Durham, North Carolina.

Meanwhile, educational organizations that are current PPG members, educational providers, or corporate partners are eligible to apply for the inclusion of their educational facility in the Education Scholarship Program. Education can be online, in person, or a hybrid. Opportunities are also available for organizations to in part or fully sponsor a scholarship program and thereby benefit from a range of marketing opportunities with PPG, including a variety of advertising and marketing opportunities across PPG's wide range of media platforms and vendor discounts at PPG educational events.
